RCS Characteristics Improvement of Active Phase Array Antenna for Seeker

Abstract In this paper, we dedcribe the RCS performance improvement of an active phased array antenna for a seeker operating in the Ka-band. In an array structure using notch radiating elements with relatively broadband characteristics, an absorbing material was applied around a reflector that had no electrical effect and RCS measurements were performed. As absorbent materials, a ferrite-based material and An LS-30 absorber were applied to measure the RCS reduction effect depending on the persence or absence of the absorbent material. In this pater, verification of RCS performance reduction in X-band and Ka-band was performed considering the seeker operating environment.
